UC Davis Mouse Biology Program
As a designer at UC Davis Reprographics, one of UC Davis’ main in-house design and print agencies, I was tasked with redesigning the logo for the UC Davis Mouse Biology Program and its various subdivisions. The goal of the project was to create a simple mark that would convey the program’s initiatives while being multi-functional to support each department.
After a careful look into the services offered I chose to incorporate genotyping, one of their most prominent offerings that would also serve as an eye-catching graphic element. Using the mouse tails to create the double helix’s structure helped reduce a complex scientific concept into something that those less familiar could understand and something appreciated by the well-versed.
